David Berry

As Vice President of Regulatory Services for the Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission (AGLC), Dave is responsible for all provincially regulated gaming, liquor and cannabis activities throughout the Province.

Berry’s position with the AGLC includes regulatory oversight of over 13,000 charities, 5,000+ registered gaming workers, 27 gaming properties and over 8,000 liquor licensees. With the additional role of cannabis, the Regulatory Services Division has over 300 staff in five offices responsible for licensing, inspections, background checks, audit, mandatory staff training programs, and criminal/provincial investigations with respect to illegal gaming, tobacco, and cannabis retailer offences.
Prior to going the AGLC, Dave had a 26-year career as a police officer with the Edmonton Police Service.

Berry’s expertise and experience with AGLC, as well as his time in the Police Services adds value to our panel and we are thrilled to be welcoming him to Cannabis Canada Forums. Berry will be speaking with the Legislators in Edmonton, Alberta on Friday April 13th during the Chamber of Commerce Luncheon. He will be joining a group of highly regarded speakers to speak about the Legislative Landscape: Ministerial and Municipal Update - An update on plans for legalization roll out, potential mandates for government levels and public safety concerns.
